Organised by Mr Anthony O'Driscoll
Hotel Alex, Zermatt, Switzerland
We are delighted to invite you to a very convivial meeting featuring highlights and updates across subspecialty disciplines. Top specialists will share information about new therapies, surgical technologies and clinical trial results. The tone is informal but structured, with active audience participation. All delegates are encouraged to present at the meeting, but this is not mandatory. Lectures are accredited for 16 CPD points, daily from Monday to Friday, from 3-7pm. The meeting stalwarts are very welcoming to newcomers.
Zermatt is a magnificant venue, with the backdrop of the Matterhorn. The mountain and it's history dominate proceedings. Anthony will be happy to book you in at the conference hotel if desired, but also many other hotels in Zermatt are available at varying prices. The skiing is unrivalled but there are many things to do other than skiing, including beautiful walks around the village. In the town, for non-skiers, there is a train up the Gornegrat mountain at 3200m, from which many kilometres of walks can be accessed.
Skiers are split into 3 groups: Adventurous (heli/off-piste), Intermediate and Beginners. All abilities are welcome. If you are an absolute beginner, then Anthony will assist you with getting kitted out and finding lessons as required.
There is a great sense of community at the meeting and many once they have attended come back year after year. Many travel out earlier than the starting weekend, and a few people stay later. Zermatt is a very safe town for people travelling alone. Most people fly to Zurich or Geneva and both have easily accessible trains with rail transfer circa three hours.
